Barriers to Conducting Research in Primary Care

Primary care is the only level of the health system able to observe the natural course of disease across the widest population, yet its share of published research remains low. Limited time, fragmented data infrastructure and poor access to methodological support are the most frequently cited barriers.

Our Scientific Research Commission has begun work on methodological consultancy and on establishing a multicentre study network for colleagues who wish to conduct research.
